DSID-1 DATA FILES AND APPLICATIONS

Below are the files that are included in the DSID-1 release. Each table is listed separately. Complete Excel 2003 and Access 2003 files of all tables are available for download. The individual tables are available for download in Excel 2003 format. An example application of the prediction equations is also provided.

1. Table 1. DSID-1 Regression Equation Table - prediction equation information based on analytical results, which is used to predict mean percent difference from label for 18 vitamins and minerals in adult MVM products. In addition, regression equation information for calculating Standard Errors is included.

Example. Application of Equations - application of prediction and standard error equations from Table 1 to two nutrients.

2. Table 2. DSID Predicted Ingredient Amounts - predicted ingredient amounts and standard errors based on regression analysis estimates at common labeled levels for each of the 18 ingredients. In addition, linking codes are listed for application of these results to NHANES dietary supplement label databases.

3. Table 3. DSID NHANES 2003-04 Applications - a list of the linking codes from Table 2 identifying appropriate products, ingredients, and ingredient levels in NHANES 2003-04 files for application of predicted ingredient amounts and standard errors.

4. Table 4. DSID NHANES 2005-06 Applications - a list of the linking codes from Table 2 to identify appropriate products, ingredients and ingredient levels in NHANES 2005-06 files for application of predicted ingredient amounts and standard errors.

5. Table 5. DSID-1 Ingredients and Units - a list of the 18 vitamins and minerals analyzed in DSID-1, along with units and abbreviations.
